Daniella Cotreau

“Your Body is a Temple.”

Temple: A place in which the divine presence specially resides.

Daniella Cotreau is the creator and founder of RYS200 Body Temple Yoga School and  Body Temple Yoga™.
She believes our Bodies are our Temples and our greatest ally in transformation, awakening and creative expression.

She teaches how the Body is a Temple, not only for personal growth, healing, evolution, and a connection to the divine but also a place to connect to and live from our Hearts, Intuition and inner guidance. She inspires her students to live and create their life from this deeper connection to the body, how to pay attention to the Body’s wisdom, live as an embodiment of Grace, share their Hearts’ fully and align with their most creative and empowered self.

Yogini, Dancer, Massage Therapist, Reiki Practitioner, performance artist, and health/nutrition advocate, she  is based in Los Gatos, California and has been teaching yoga for a decade.  She teaches local weekly classes, private yoga, inspiring workshops, retreats, transformational Immersions and empowering Teacher Trainings, both internationally and locally.
She travels to teach at the annual Envision Festival in Costa Rica each Spring and is an Ambassador for Manduka.

“Through deeply living in the body, we bring ourselves out of the confines of the mind and into the Heart.  We learn that our body, with it’s innate intelligence and intuition is a great teacher and guide to living the life that we desire, one dream at a time.  The answers are in your body.
Live there and see.”

“You are the Creator of your Life.
The Artwork of your Life is how you bring your Heart into everything you do.
Bringing your authentic expression and your creativity
through the Temple which is your Body.”
~Daniella Cotreau

Daniella’s first foundational teacher training was in the 8 Limbs Ashtanga tradition at Mount Madonna Center, the local Ashram of Baba Hari Dass, in 2003.  She has traveled, taught and studied in Thailand, Bali, India and Costa Rica while exploring different branches of yoga which have included Kundalini, Bikram, Hatha, and Iyengar.

She began studying Anusara yoga in 2006 with numerous immersions and teacher trainings with  Sianna Sherman and Noah Maze in Berkeley, California. She became certified as an official Anusara-Inspired Yoga Instructor in the winter of 2008.

Daniella’s teachings are highly influenced by the education that she received from her 6 years studying the method of Anusara Yoga. Those studies have given her incredible tools for healing herself as well as her students making positive and long lasting changes in their bodies and lives.

Her most influential teachers include Sianna Sherman, Noah Maze, Elena Brower, Mark Holzman, and Desiree Rumbaugh.

Her background in yoga philosophy include studies with Tantra scholars Chris (Hareesh) Wallis, Douglas Brooks (Rajanaka Yoga), and Blue Throat Yoga with Paul Muller-Ortega with whom she received Neelakantha Meditation Initiation in May of 2010.

She is certified a the highest level as an  E-RYT 500 yoga instructor with over 6000 hours of teaching experience.

“Our bodies are our temples. The essential function of a temple is to provide communion, feed the soul and awaken the spirit. A temple is also, in and of itself, a work of art with a long history of development. A place to examine our internal pieces of art, marvel at their intricacy and beauty and examine their meanings in our lives, and come to understand more fully how they link together to create and sustain the miracles we live out every day–breath, pulse, movement, feeling, consciousness, and our relationship with nature at large.”

“Daniella is a pure joy to be around. It has been an honor to hold space by her side in a professional setting. It is delightful to witness the way she coaches her students with such grace and a keen eye for alignment. I always feel immediately lifted up because of her bright loving energy. Daniella is inspiring to learn from, because there are few teachers who actually “live the practice”. It’s evident in her teaching style.”
